The Sequim School District has officially launched its Design Advisory Committee to help guide the vision and design of projects funded by the recently approved bond measure. The District prioritized broad community engagement in forming this group, which now includes 35 selected members representing staff, parents/guardians, students, and community members.
The Committee held its first meeting on Thursday, May 1, 2025, and will continue to meet regularly to carry out its charge. Members are tasked with:
- Researching best practices for school facilities—including elementary and high school buildings, athletic spaces, secure entrances, and transportation/traffic flow;
- Soliciting and incorporating community input;
- Sharing their own expertise and perspectives; and
- Reviewing and providing feedback on design concepts.
The Design Advisory Committee is an essential part of ensuring that the bond-funded projects reflect the needs and values of the Sequim community. Members are committed to attending scheduled meetings and operating under established Relational and Operational Community Agreements that foster respectful and effective collaboration.

Meetings are scheduled from 4:00–6:00 PM. Additional meetings may be added, and some sessions may include off-site tours of other school district facilities for inspiration and research.
